This website, rebuilt without WordPress

Static site buildBrand systemSEO migration

After one too many security alerts, I moved my own site off WordPress. Same posts, same addresses, a fraction of the weight.

The brief

Not a year went by without a WordPress security issue. I’d already moved most of my clients to static sites and modern hosting, so it was time to do the same for my own.

What I did

I rebuilt the site as a fast static site with a new brand system: beige, navy and grey with a brass accent, Gambarino headlines and a fine grain across the page. Every post kept its original address, so links and rankings carry over. Posts are plain Markdown files, the whole site is built ahead of time, and the only thing that runs on a server is the contact form.

Where it’s at

Live. It’s faster, it’s easier to update, and there’s nothing left to patch.
